    Lead Finisher

    Forge Graphic Works is a design studio and large format print shop located in Portland, Oregon. We do work for big brands and small companies alike, specializing in designing and printing large retail campaigns, event graphics, P.O.P. displays and other marketing programs. We work hard but have fun designing and producing really cool stuff.

    We are currently looking for a Lead Production Finisher. This individual will report to and take direction from our Production Manager and be expected to perform all aspects of our finishing workflow while managing finishing personnel.

    Responsibilities:

    • Prioritize and manage finishing workflow, including setting up and operating laminators, sewing machines, vinyl plotters and other processes as necessary to ensure deadlines are met
    • Successfully lead and manage finishing personnel
    • Collaborate with production managers and other production leaders to establish daily priorities and timing, as well as long-term goals and expectations
    • Train and coach new finishing personnel on all finishing processes and production standards and procedures
    • Perform quality control protocols to ensure that all graphics are produced within spec and meet our stringent quality standards
    • Provide accurate, immediate progress reports to the Production Manager and all other relevant stakeholders
    • Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked working area
    • Assist in other production departments as directed by the production manager

    Required Skills:

    • Supervisory / management experience or ability
    • Minimum three years of experience with large format finishing work, including trimming, -Supervisory / management experience or ability
    • Expert knowledge of finishing processes, equipment, and materials
    • Highly organized with a strong attention to detail and an eye for quality
    • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Must be a highly motivated team player, with the ability to think and act autonomously
    • Possess a positive, "can-do" attitude
    • Willingness to occasionally work flexible hours when necessary
    • Have a current, valid driver license
    • Ability to lift 50 pounds
    • Desire to grow your skill-set and take on more responsibility
    • Forklift certification / experience a plus

      Purchasing Lead

      Forge Graphic Works is a group of highly skilled, creative thinkers who design and produce retail graphics and consumer experiences. We do work for big brands and small companies alike, specializing in designing and printing large retail campaigns, event graphics, retail displays and other marketing programs. We work hard but have fun designing and producing really cool stuff.

      We are currently looking to add a purchasing lead to our team. As purchasing lead, you will work with our project management and production staff to cost outsource services, negotiate vendor pricing and purchase stock and specialty materials for 3D & 2D production projects. You will also be responsible maintaining accurate PO & system pricing for all stock materials as well as administer regular inventory counts.

      As we work across many mediums and industries for our clients, this is a position for someone who enjoys a challenge that varies from day to day and wants to grow within a fun, creative and growing business.

      Responsibilities:

      • Source, order, and manage inventory of materials as needed by project management and production staff
      • Source and manage vendors of outsourced products and services
      • Strategically plan projects in order to meet timelines and budget
      • Research and present new material resources to project management team
      • Administer & report monthly inventory counts
      • Ensure accurate pricing in estimation software at all times
      • Communicate between internal teams and outside vendors regarding all project requirements
      • Monitor and report on project status to all stakeholders
      • Problem solve and meet/manage client and company expectations

      Required Skills:

      • Thorough understanding of large format printing processes, materials, installation and fulfillment
      • Strong understanding of 3D fabrication manufacturing materials and solutions
      • Creative thinker and problem solver
      • Self-motivated and skilled at building relationships
      • At least 3-4 years of project management or hands-on production experience in large format printing, build shop or sign shop environment
      • Excellent written and oral communication skills
      • Extreme attention to detail
      • Ability to manage multiple projects and multi-task quickly and effectively
      • Must be able to work in a fast paced, extremely deadline-driven environment
      • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Excel and basic knowledge of Adobe Design software
